In-demand NY session musician, teacher, and musical director Pete O'Neill has studied with many of the world’s top bass players. In addition to his independent studies at Berklee Music school, Pete has had the pleasure of studying with industry legends such as Victor Wooten, Chuck Rainey, Anthony Wellington, Adam Nitti, and Matt Garrison.
Pete’s highlights include opening the Gathering of the Vibes festival in upstate New York, featuring James Brown, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Gov’t Mule, and the Allman Brothers. After his recent appearance on Fox Television's "Huckabee," Gov. Mike Huckabee, a bass player himself, remarked "You did such a great job. You should give me some lessons on the bass!" Most recently, Pete's bass solo performances have been featured on popular bass websites www.notreble.com, and www.forbassplayeronly.com. Pete has been teaching guitar and bass for the last 6 years on Long Island and in New York City. Currently, Pete can be seen performing as a soloist, laying down basslines in New York's premiere studios, and playing such NYC venues as Rockwood Music Hall, Sullivan Hall, and the Living Room with such memorable acts as Jon Christopher and the Locksmiths. Through performing as a soloist, collaborating with other artists, and teaching the next generation of musicians, Pete aspires to help enrich the roles of guitar and bass in popular music. Thanks to ForBassPlayersOnly.com for featuring my video "Wild Horses" on their amazing website! (to the right)
